Senior Physiotherapist
Olivia (Liv) is a Post-graduate qualified and highly experience Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. She enjoys working with patients both in the clinic and in the gym, especially for post-operative rehabilitation. Her clinical skill set includes spinal manipulation, acupuncture, manual therapy, and exercise prescription.
Liv also has a passion for injury prevention. She was involved in developing the nationwide ACC NetballSmart injury prevention programme.
While she was an intern at elite athlete training facility EXOS in Arizona, USA, she worked with NFL football players, MLB baseball players and Olympic athletes. As a sports Physio, Liv has worked with the NZ Hockey Junior Black Sticks Women, NZ Hockey Women “As” and Netball NZ U21 Team.
Her areas of speciality include rehab for ACL injuries and complex knee injuries, gym-based rehab for osteoarthritis and post-operative rehab after total knee and hip replacement, post-operative shoulder and back rehabilitation, and working with patients with persistent pain.
This year, she is commencing her Masters of Philosophy at AUT, in a topic related to best-practice for adolescents with anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
Previously, Liv represented Canada at an international level in dinghy sailing, and also worked as a youth sailing coach for many years. Outside of work, Liv enjoys any active pursuit out in nature, especially water-related. She and her partner are also kept very busy chasing after their young twin boys.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor Health Science (Physiotherapy), Post Graduate Diploma in Health Science (Musculoskeletal Physio)
