Clinical interest in dysfunctional breathing/breathing pattern disorders, spinal and persistent pain.

Abby is deeply committed to holistic care, addressing not just the physical but also the mental, emotional and lifestyle aspects that shape the rehabilitation journey. She graduated from AUT with a Bachelor of Health Science Physiotherapy and became a Certified BradCliff Breathing Practitioner for dysfunctional breathing/breathing pattern disorders soon after. She is now the provider of the Sports and Spinal Respiratory Service, which focuses on the assessment and treatment of breathing pattern disorders.

Abby's treatment approach combines tailored exercise prescription, hands-on therapy and breath re-training to support patients optimizing their movement, breathing pattern, and overall health, well-being and performance. Her approach is detailed, evidence based and compassionate. Alongside her clinical work, Abby also serves as a Clinical Educator and Teaching Assistant within AUT University's Physiotherapy Department. 

Outside of the clinic you can find Abby strength training, exploring the outdoors, wakeboarding, sprinting, and emerged in wellness practices like mindfulness meditation, ice baths and saunas.

Qualification: Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy), BradCliff Breathing Method Certified Practitioner, currently completing her Master's Thesis at AUT focused on the Physiotherapy management of Breathing Pattern Disorders in New Zealand.
